Bhubaneswar: A mother's love, they say, is truly unconditional. And a mother does so much more than just being 'mommy'. She plays so many roles in a person’s life - a guide, a confidante, a go-to person and most importantly the best friend. And Manjula Nayak of Sunabeda in Koraput district has become such a figure in today’s mundane world.

For last 29 years, she has been serving her youngest son, who was born mentally challenged. Till date nothing has deterred her from serving the youth. She even sacrificed her teaching profession so that there would be no negligence on her part, what she calls a duty.

This is not the end for Manjula. Things went worse when her middle son met with an accident five years back and remained bedridden. Later he went into coma. Without losing any hope, she has been effortlessly serving the two sons.

“As a mother, I am doing my duty. I have no remorse that I am doing this at this age,” Manjula told OTV.

The pentagenarian still has hope that her sons will recover one day.

“I have faith on Almighty. I hope that my sons will one day walk on the road like others,” stated she, who has made countless sacrifices for happiness of the family.

Satya Nayak, husband of Manjula too helps her in the day to day work.

“We will be doing till death, whatever we can for our sons,” he noted.
