Mumbai: An Odia pilgrim among three died and 36 Odia pilgrims injured, 15 of them seriously, in a tragic road accident in Nashik district in Maharashtra on Friday night.

According to reports, a tourist bus, bearing registration number MH-17-BD-5155, was on the way to Shirdi carrying 39 Odia pilgrims belonging to Dharmasala block in Jajpur district when the driver lost control of the vehicle which overturned after colliding with a Tempo near Khopdi village under Sinnar Taluka in Nashik district.

While the bus and the Tempo drivers died on the spot, all 36 Odia pilgrims were injured.

The incident took place at about 8 PM

Following information, police rushed to the spot and admitted the injured pilgrims in Nashik Health Care & Research Centre Pvt Ltd and the remaining patients in Dr Patil Maternity Hospital and Yashwant Hospital.

However, Sudhir Behera, who was seriously injured, succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment. The deceased is a native of Aruha village under Dharmasala block in Jajpur district, the reports added.
