Bhubaneswar/Manali: Lalu Prasad Bhoi, a young mountaineer from Odisha died after trekking at Byasakunda near Manali of Himachal Pradesh on Sunday.
According to sources, Bhoi, suffered from illness while returning after scaling Byasakunda, a 15,000 feet altitude peak in the Himalayan region.
With their camp a short distance away after the trek, Bhoi collapsed and was immediately shifted to a hospital in Manali where the doctors declared him dead.
On September 17, Bhoi along with 14 other climbers led by famous professional mountaineer Jogabhyas Bhoi went on a trek to the famous peak.
Lalu, one of the youngest climbers from Odisha and is also said to be a cousin brother of Jogabhyas.
