Bhubaneswar: Nrusingha Charan Sahu an Odia youth, aims to bring pride and glory for his state and country as he has decided to scale Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain peak in South Africa.
A resident of Nischitapur village of Khurda district, Sahu has qualified for this prestigious mountaineering event where he along with 12 other competitors from all across the globe will be taking part to scale the peak.
Asked about how he felt on his big achievement, Sahu said he was excited to scale and make a record. “I have no feelings on this. This is the way of life of a mountaineer.”
The State Sports and Youth Services department has congratulated Sahu on his big achievement. “We have wished him all the best for his mission. We have also given him a flag which he will fix it on Mt Kilimanjaro peak,” department secretary Vishal Kumar Dev told media persons.
“After he returns, we will felicitate him as per our scheme,” he added.
Sahu was qualified for Kilimanjaro expedition after scaling Stock Kangri, the highest mountain peak in the Stock Range of Himalayas with 6153 metre altitude.
