Bhubaneswar: Dreaming to make a mark and bring laurels to her country, Lavanya Das, an Odia girl from Bhubaneswar is looking forward to mesmerise everyone with her charm and beauty when she participates in the finale of the upcoming Prince and Princess International beauty pageant scheduled to be held in Phuket, Thailand, from July 25 to July 31 this year.

Lavanya, the only participant officially representing India at the prestigious event will have to compete with 70 other participants from 20 different countries.

A student of Unit 8, DAV, Bhubaneswar, Lavanya is a professional model and has been inclined towards the world of fashion since she was a child.

 

She has already made her mark in the modelling industry after emerging the winner in last year’s Pre-teen Junior Model International beauty pageant in Kerala when she left behind 60 participants of 22 countries to claim the covetous award.

Even as modelling is a passion and dream for Lavanya, she loves the rich history, culture and tradition of her state and country and flaunts it with pride whenever she participates in fashion shows or beauty pageants.

 

Even though I am making a career in modelling, I don’t want to neglect the rich culture and heritage of my state,” she says, adding that “There are different rounds during the pageant like party wear rounds, talent round, costume rounds so I always try to present the culture and tradition of Odisha in the best possible way

Lavanya is a talented student and has also won many accolades in extracurricular activities.

Lipika Das, her mother says “After failing to get any sponsorship, we have arranged funds for her on our own. She is an Odia girl and will definitely make her state, country and everyone proud, so if we get support for her, it would be beneficial,” she says.
