New Delhi/ Bhubaneswar: An Odia doctor working at Ram Manohar Lohia (RML) Hospital was found dead under mysterious circumstances at his rented house in New Delhi on Monday. The deceased has been identified as Sidharth Shankar Mohapatra (26), a native of Puri district.

The body of Sidharth was found hanging from the fan hook of the ceiling in his residence at plot no- 1/9, second floor, Old Rajendra Nagar.

Though police suspect it to be a case of suicide, a probe has been launched in connection with the incident. A handwritten letter suspected to be a sucide note has also been recovered from the spot.

Official sources said, Sidharth was working as NSC (Anaesthesia) and was staying along with two other RML doctors at the flat from where his body was recovered at around 8:28 am today.

Both of Sidharth’s roommates Sachin and Abhisekh were not present in the house when the incident occurred. Abhisekh  had gone to his hometown in Jharkhand while Sachin was on night duty at RML.

The family members of Sidharth claimed to have spoken with him over phone last night and said he sounded normal.

"He was soft spoken and we cannot believe he committed suicide," said grandmother Manorama Padhi
