Bhubaneswar: Odia boy Partha Sarathi Jena from Anandpur has received gold medal from the President of India, Ram Nath Kovind for emerging topper at Indian Institute of Technology (IIT),  Bhubaneswar.

Born to Suprabha and Nilamani Jena of Padiapal village under Ghasipura block of Keonjhar district, Partha Sarathi is the first Odia to secure the top position in the Geology stream of the Bhubaneswar-based IIT with a 9.69 CGPA.

The President felicitated Partha Sarathy for his incredible achievement with a gold medal on March 18.

Currently pursuing PhD at Physical Research Laboratory, Ahmedabad, Partha Sarathi completed his initial years in school from Keonjhar and completed his graduation from Ravenshaw University. He gave all the credit of his success to his family and friends.

Expressing his happiness, Partha said "I am very happy to have topped in my department and want to pursue a career in research. I hope to dedicate my career to help other students achieve what I have."

His father Nilamani said, "I congratulate him for his success and pray that he moves forward and dedicates his life for the welfare of the society. I also thank all his teachers, especially the primary teachers whose invaluable teaching and hard work has made a difference."
