Odia bonded labourer dies in Gujarat

Deogarh: The family of an Odia labourer, working as a bonded labourer at a factory in Gujarat, on Sunday sought the help of the district administration after he died following an accident in the factory.

As per sources, Chintamani Sahu of Tinkbir village under Reamal Tehsil of Deogarh district was working as bonded labourer since two months at a factory in Rajkot of Gujarat.

Earlier on February 20, Chintamani had sustained severe burn injuries after boiling water from the plant unit in the factory fell on him allegedly due to a rupture in the plant.

Chintamani was immediately admitted to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries at 4 am today.

"He was working in the factory on Tuesday when the tank ruptured and he was injured. He was admitted to a hospital from where his friend informed us that he died today morning," said deceased  Chintamani' s son, Mitrabhanu Sahu.
