Cuttack: The former secretary of the Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) Ashirbad Behera on Saturday rubbished the allegations of financial irregularity in OCA.

At a press conference here, Behera said, "Even the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) audit report has no such mention about it. I don't know how such report of irregularity came to news."

The state cricket association has so far received funds to the tune of about Rs 320 crore in the last 16 years; so, the allegation of funds embezzlement of a whopping Rs 500 crore lacks any substance, he said.

Putting his stance before Cuttack Collector, Behera said, "Congress leader Mohammed Moquim is trying to defame him out of resentment because he had refused to oblige to his request to help him in 2014 elections."

Terming the accusation of Behera 'laughable', Moquim said the audit report related to financial irregularity was prepared by Deloitte which later published in national media.

Notably, Deloitte had, in March, submitted its audit reports to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) which found irregularities and put associations like Odisha, Hyderabad, Assam, Goa, DDCA and Jammu & Kashmir in bad light.
