Bhubaneswar/Cuttack: A day after Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik directed the State Crime Branch to probe into the posting of obscene remarks against some girls in Facebook, the main accused has been arrested from Mahanga area in Cuttack district last night.

Crime Branch special DG BK Sharma confirmed about the arrest the main accused Sujit Sahu. The CM also clarified it on his twitter page.

"Prime accused Sujit Sahu in the cyber crime case arrested last night. Hope this serves as a strong deterrent & such acts are not repeated", Patnaik tweeted.

Sujit Sahu is the account holder of Aarohi Creations on which photos of some girls of Ramadevi Women's University were posted with defamatory caption.

The students had lodged a complaint on Saturday at Saheed Nagar police station against Sahu accusing him of misusing their photographs with objectionable captions.

They also met chief minister at his chamber yesterday.

Taking strong note of the incident, Patnaik ordered the Director of the Crime Branch of Police to initiate stringent action against the culprits involved in such posting of objectionable remarks in the Facebook.
