OAS officer in Vigilance net

Bhubaneswar: Vigilance sleuths today conducted simultaneous raids on the residence and office of OAS officer Asutosh Samal on charges of amassing properties and assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.

Currently posted in Revenue and Disaster Management department, Samal has been accused of possessing disproportionate assets. Simultaneous raids are underway at his Bhandaripokhari and Bhubaneswar residence as well as his office, sources said.

“Vigilance is doing its duty and I have no issues. Even I am assisting them in their inquiry. Search is on and my cooperation is 100%. If I am proved guilty, I will be punished. I had taken loan from SBI to build this house,” said Samal.

Meanwhile, Bhubaneswar Vigilance SP M Radhakrishnan said, “Raid is still underway and we cannot estimate now until the raid is over. He has a 3 BHK flat in Kharavela Nagar and a plot. Search is on.”
