Dhamra: The indigenous Agni-II ballistic missile was test-fired from the launch pad no-4 of the Abdul Kalam Island off Odisha coast as part of a user trial at 10.23 am today.

The medium-range ballistic missile test-fired today can collect more data on its striking capacity for which two warships with radars were deployed in the Bay of Bengal.

The missile can carry both conventional and nuclear warheads of 15 kilo tonne to 250 kilo tonne.

The 21-metre-long and 1.3-meter-wide ballistic missile weighs 16,000 kg.

It has a strike range of 2,000-3,000 km and can be fired from rail and road mobile launchers.
