Bhubaneswar: A crucial meeting on security of prominent places across the State was held between officials of the National Security Guard (NSG), Director General of Police KB Singh and Police Commissioner YB Khurania here at the DG’s camp office today.

The State’s preparedness to tackle any kind of terror attack in future was discussed during the meeting. In view of this, NSG has set plans to carry out a three-day drill at the State Secretariat, State Assembly, Biju Patnaik International Airport and other major government installations.

The top cops also discussed the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to counter the potential threats and acts of terrorism within the State.

"The mock drill is a routine activity carried in every state and is now a joint initiative undertaken by Odisha Police and NSG. Odisha Police has very well trained officers and we are training along with them. Together, we are learning from each other and this is definitely going to help in tackling any potential disaster that comes," said NSG IG Sashank Mishra.

“With the increasing threat perception from terrorist outfits, mock drills are necessary. The Special Tactical Unit (STU) of the State Police has also been involved in the drill,” said Khurania.
