Notorious criminal Buchi Patra, aides nabbed after police encounter

Berhampur: Continuing crackdown on criminals across Ganjam district, police has nabbed another hardcore criminal Buchi Patra, along with his associates, after a fierce encounter near Kakudia forests in Mathura village under Polsara tehsil of Ganjam district on Tuesday.

According to sources, the incident occurred at around 6.10 am this morning when an exchange of fire took place between Polsara police and Buchi Patra and his associates.

Subsequently Buchi sustained bullet injuries on both his legs and was admitted to Polsara Community Health Centre where he is undergoing treatment.

His associates identified as Ajit Nayak alias Lipu and Akhaya Nayak alias Panda from Kabisuryanagar area were also nabbed after the encounter.

One mouser, two live ammunitions and a Yamaha Fazer motorcycle was seized from them, sources said.
