Jajpur: The recent flood fury in Jajpur district has wrecked havoc and it is now a difficult time for farmers as standing crops in several hectares of agricultural land stands submerged in flood waters.

Tukuni Kar, a farmer from Barabati Karsahi village Banishriya Panchayat of Bari block is now worried as standing vegetables crops in his 3-acre land has been damaged in the floods.

It is a testing time for Tukuni as he is not able to harvest the Brinjal, Lady’s Finger, Cucumber and other vegetables as his entire agricultural land is now submerged in flood waters.

Not only Tukuni, several other farmers of the district are staring at an uncertain future.

“I had taken a loan from the cooperative society and I am unable to do anything other than watching the vegetables rot,” said Tukuni.

Life of people in the flood-hit Jajpur district has now become miserable as they are waiting desperately for the flood waters to recede.

At present, most of the victims are now at the mercy of nature.
