Jharsuguda: Normal life has been paralysed in Jharsuguda town today due to a 12-hour bandh being observed by locals under aegis of the Hanuman Seva Samiti over relocation of the district headquarters hospital.

Shops remained closed and vehicular traffic has been affected during the bandh.

On the other hand, the district administration has tightened security in view of the bandh.

The Hanuman Seva Samiti has been opposing the relocation of the district headquarters hospital to a new building near Balijuri. Apart from this, three members of the seva samiti have resorted to hunger strike near the old hospital building.
