Bhubaneswar: Out of six nomination papers filed for the biennial Rajya Sabha elections on June 11, the three filed by the BJD candidates have been found valid while three others have been rejected by the returning officer.

After scrutiny, it was found out that the nomination papers of only BJD candidates- namely, Prasanna Acharya, Bishnucharan Das and N Bhaskar Rao - have been found valid,” said returning officer Amiya Sarangi.

The candidates whose nomination papers have been rejected are K Shyambabu Subudhi, Lala Arun Kumar Singh and Akshya Kumar Behera.

Notably, June 3 is the last date of withdrawing nominations. If none of the candidates withdraws their nomination papers, then the names of the victorious candidates will be announced on the same date.
