Jajpur: No-trust motion has been brought against Vyasanagar Municipality chairperson, Sabita Rout for the second time in three months.

Few days earlier, Rout was suspended from the BJD over disciplinary issues following which a formal no-trust vote was brought against the chairperson by 13 councillors.

Notably, Congress Councillors with the support of Rout’s party members had moved a no-confidence motion against her in September last year. In the 26-member municipality, BJD has the majority with 16 members followed by Congress with nine and a lone independent member.

The Congress had moved the no-confidence motion with the support of seven disgruntled BJD members against the chairperson last month. School and Mass Education Minister Debi Prasad Mishra had intervened in the matter and bailed her out from the no confidence motion.
