No more reservation charts on South Eastern Rly trains

Kolkata: The South Eastern Railway has decided not to paste reservation chart on long route express and mail train coach starting October 16.

SER spokesman Sanjay Ghosh said, “For a long time, reservation chart has been put up on coach of the Express and Mail trains. But these days it does not look appropriate.”

He added, “With the new decision, train coaches can be kept clean from the outside apart from saving paper.”

Detailed information is available on a confirmed ticket during a booking. However, in case a ticket is not confirmed, a passenger can get information about reservation against cancellation and confirmation through an SMS on the registered phone number.

The new rule is applicable on Mail and Express trains of SER originating from Howrah and running to the western and southern destinations of the country.
