Bhubaneswar: Discussions on Mahandi water dispute could not be held in the Rajya Sabha today following uproar by Congress leaders over the Triple Talaq Bill, which was passed in the Lok Sabha last week.

As the pandemonium continued over the Triple Talaq Bill, the Speaker adjourned the House for the fourth time, till 11 am on Thursday.

The Mahanadi water dispute between Odisha and Chhattisgarh was scheduled for discussion today in the upper house. The ruling BJD even had moved a calling-attention notice in the House for the same. Senior BJD leaders like Prasanna Acharya and Ananga Uday Singh Deo had moved the motion to present Odisha's stand on the issue.

Earlier yesteday, MP Prasanna Acharya had said that BJD will raise its voice against the dilly-dallying attitude of the Centre on formation of a tribunal and expose its double standards in the matter.
