Bhubaneswar: Students of NIT Rourkela made it to the national final of NTPC Electron Quiz 2017 by winning the first prize at a regional level competition held at Chandragupta Institute of Management Patna (CIMP) campus on Saturday.
The students that achieved the feat are Nishant Nihar and Abhishek Patra. They had to compete with five other teams - one each from IIM Ranchi, IIT Patna and three teams of CIMP - after qualifying the written round.
Ravi Kumar Gupta and Nikhil Gaekwad of IIM Ranchi and Shalini & Roushan Kumar of CIMP stood second and third respectively in the competition organised by NTPC Eastern Region-I, Patna.
The top three winners were presented cash awards worth Rs 30,000, Rs 20,000 and Rs 10,000 respectively by NTPC Regional Executive Director (East-1) K S Garbyal.
The NIT Rourkela team has to face the other two teams in the final to be held at NTPC Business School, Noida on August 19.
A total of 52 teams from various engineering and management colleges across Odisha, Bihar and Jharkhand took part in the regional level of the quiz competition.
