Bhubaneswar: Continuing its crackdown on hooligans creating public nuisance during Monday's ‘Hak Pain Hartal’ by BJD, the Commissionerate Police today arrested nine more persons taking the toll of arrested to 12.
The arrest was made on the basis of CCTV footage. More people involved in violence will be arrested soon, said Police Commissioner YB Khurania.
All the arrested persons were booked in two separate cases. One case registered with Saheed Nagar police is related to beating a commuter and ransacking his vehicle while another was filed at Chandrasekharpur police station in connection with damaging sign boards at IOCL office.

Following severe criticism from various quarters, the police had arrested three youths including a juvenile on Tuesday for harassing a woman at Delta square during the hartal. All of them are natives of Rangani Sahi Basti in the area.
Armed with sticks, they were seen intimidating commuters plying on the road during the agitation.
