Cuttack: Senior servitor of Shri Jagannath Temple in Puri, Damodar Mahasuara today got relief after the Orissa High Court directed the police not to arrest him till further orders.

The directive of the court came in response to a petition filed by the servitor challenging the action of the police which had declared him as an absconder for his involvement in the Niladri Bije ruckus  on July 17.

The court, however, asked the servitor to appear before the investigating officer on November 21.

In the meanwhile, a committee, comprising senior lawyers, has proposed the Puri Collector for a meeting to resolve the case.

The committee has planned to visit Puri on November 19 for a meeting with the Collector in this regard.
