Puri: Police today arrested Rabi Das, one of the eight servitors declared ‘absconding’ by the district police for allegedly misbehaving with Puri Collector Arvind Agarwal during the Niladri Bije on July 17.
The servitor, who had been at large after the incident, was later forwarded to court, informed the city DSP. The eight servitors were declared ‘absconding’ for not cooperating with the police in the investigation into the Niladri Bije mess.
On Thursday, the Orissa High Court had rejected the anticipatory bail pleas of three servitors accused of misbehaving with the Puri Collector and manhandling media persons during the Niladri Bije celebration.
The three servitors - Damodar Mahasuar, Jayakrushna Mahasuar and Saina Khuntia - also figure in the list of absconders announced by the police.
