Puri: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has ruled out any terrorist involvement in the Puri Station fire mishap. In its closure report filed today, NIA has maintained that Ramchandran Subhas set fire to the train on his own and no one else was involved in the incident.

In its closure report submitted to the Puri District Sessions Court today, the NIA has also urged to shift the case to the Puri SDJM court.

Notably, a major fire broke out at Puri Station on November 3, in which at least five bogies of three empty stationary trains were damaged one after the other. A high-level probe was ordered following the incident. Accused Ramchandran Subhas was arrested in this connection.

According to sources, the probe report has revealed that Subhas was suffering from psychological disorder Megalomania, and wanted to be famous. After his arrest a case under Prevention of Unlawful Activities Act was registered against him. However, it was not proved and the NIA handed over the case to the Railway police. Moreover, during the probe, it was found out that Subhas was involved in setting fire to trains at Haridwar, Kharagpur and Bhubaneswar.
