Bhubaneswar: A day ahead of the completion of one year of the Centre’s announcement of the Smart City project, a team from the National Film Development Corporation (NFDC) today began shooting a documentary film on Bhubaneswar, which was voted No.1 during the smart city campaign.

As per the decision of the Centre, the NFDC will focus on the culture, monuments and tourist attractions of the capital city of Odisha and present it nationally. Sources said the NFDC crew will shoot for the documentary film in Bhubaneswar for three days.

Samran Maria, a member of NFDC team, said, “The documentary film will be on the smart city project. We will feature how the city will develop into an ultra smart city,” adding Pune, which has come second in the campaign, will also be covered in the video.

Expressing happiness about the making of the documentary, Bhubaneswar Mayor Anantanarayan Jena said, “The documentary film will definitely have an impact on the development of the city and we hope it will create a new identity.”

Notably, Bhubaneswar, which was established in 1948, stood top among 20 cities in the country in the Smart City campaign undertaken by the Central government last year.
