Kendrapara: A day after the u-turn of Gayatri Sethy in the Penthapala samiti member nomination withdrawal issue, another candidate Pramila Mallick has given a fresh twist to the current controversy saying that she has not withdrawn her nomination papers.

“Neither, I had gone to the office of BDO nor had applied for withdrawal of my candidature”, Mallik told OTV today.

Similarly, Kendrapara ADM today visited Pattamundai and recorded the statement of BDO and Gayatri Sethy’s husband as part of the probe into alleged forged withdrawal of nomination. “The report can’t be produced immediately. I have recorded the statement of BDO and both the candidates. All the documents will be verified again. Then after, I can give the report”, the ADM said.

Meanwhile, in yet another trouble for the Kendrapara MLA Kishore Tarai, BJP Yuva Morcha of the district lodged a complaint against him with police on charges of submitting false affidavit to Election Commission (EC) during 2004 and 2014 general elections.

“He (Kishore Tarai) had mentioned his father name as Bimbadhar Tarai in his affidavit to EC during 2004 elections while his father name was Bimal Tarai in the affidavit in 2014 poll. This is an offence under Representation of People’s act”, Prashant Samal, BJYM president of Kendrapara, alleged.

Samal demanded action against the legislator under law.
