Odishatv Bureau

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Textbook Bureau on Sunday said all text books of Plus II courses will be available in the market by end of June.

Director of the bureau Geetika Patnaik said, “Writing of books for different subjects has started. We expect the books to take the final shape by June 15 and students will get them by the end of the month.”

Every book will have syllabus and question bank at the end pages, she added.

Meanwhile, Plus II students of the State are apprehensive about their career as the new books are not yet available in the market. Following changes in the syllabus and pattern, the students are expecting the text books at the beginning of the academic session to understand the subjects better.

Sonali Subhadarshini, a student, said, “We have not yet got a proper syllabus and text books. Undoubtedly, this will create problems for us as the examinations will be on schedule. We could have utilized the vacations in a better way if the books were available.”

Expressing similar views, educationist Pritish Acharya stated, “Definitely both teachers and students will face difficulties due to the delay in the availability of the text books.”

Notably, the State government has decided to change the syllabus and pattern of Plus II courses from this academic session to help more students of Odisha crack all-India entrance tests.
