Puri: Servitors of Sri Jagannath Temple in Puri fixed a new Patitapabana flag atop the temple on Thursday morning after the old flag caught fire in lightening on Wednesday evening.

According to reports, the mast in which the flag was attached also caught fire in the lightning yesterday.

The rituals of the deities were performed on time as the other flags fixed atop the temple remained unaffected during the lighting, the sources added.

Meanwhile, the incident has hampered sentiments of lakhs of Jagannath devotees.
