Bhubaneswar: In what can spell more trouble to Mahimananda Mishra, the managing director of Orissa Stevedores Ltd (OSL), Kujang JMFC court issued non-bailable warrant (NBW) against him in connection with the murder of Mahendra Swain, General Manager of Seaways Shipping and Logistics Private Limited (SSPL).

The court has also issued NBW against Basant Bal, the executive director of OSL in the sensational murder case.
Sources said the Paradip police had applied for the NBW few days ago.

Earlier this month, the High Court had denied interim protection to Mishra. The court also denied his four associates protection from arrest in connection with the case.

Less than a week ago a team of Paradip Police raided the house of Mishra in Baramunda area here and interrogated his wife Mala Mishra.

On October 26, miscreants hurled crude hand bombs at the vehicle of Seaways General Manager Mahendra Swain near Ambedkar Bhawan at Madhuban Colony in Paradip while he was on his way to office. While Swain attempted to escape, they opened two rounds of bullet killing him on the spot.

Police have so far arrested five accused– Rakesh Chaubey and Riyasat Hussain of Jamshedpur, Muhammad Samin of Jharkhand, and Manoj Gochhayat and Shiva of Cuttack in the case.
