Bhubaneswar: From tomorrow onwards, Odisha CM and BJD president Naveen Patnaik will embark on a journey to various district party headquarters to meet the newly-elected Panchayati Raj Institution (PRI) members as a part of an effort to strengthen the party’s organisation at the grassroots and review the performance in the recently concluded rural polls.

The CM will be visiting the party members not at his residence but at their respective headquarters and his visit will emphasise reaching out to the public to promote various government schemes.

Moreover, sources said keeping in mind the 2019 general elections, the CM will discuss the party strategy and groundwork with the grassroots workers. The CM is also review the party’s sub-par performance in the recently –concluded rural polls.

“Some elected representatives seem to be forgetting their responsibility of staying in touch with people which is having a very adverse impact. The CM’s objective is to try to make them aware of their responsibilities and to make the organisation more active,” said BJD spokesperson, Amar Sathpaty.

The CM is scheduled to visit Koraput and Jajpur initially.
