Puri: Describing the beauty of Sun Temple, RabindraNath Tagore had said, “ Here the language of stone surpasses the language of human.” Now this ‘poetry in stone’ will come alive with the much awaited light and sound show at Konark as Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik inaugurates it today.

The light and sound project has been completed with joint efforts of India Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) and State Tourism Department.

The State government had signed an agreement for the project back in 2014. The Tourism and Culture department had released Rs 4.56 crore to the India Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) for the project.

The light and sound show will play a crucial role in informing tourists about the rich history of the Black Pagoda. The show will be presented in three languages.

Sekhar Suman has done the voice over of the script in Hindi, Kabir Bedi has given his voice for the English script and Bijay Mohanty has recorded for the Odia one, sources said.

Official sources said, eight high definition projectors will be used for the light and sound show using laser technology.
