Naveen to address BJD South Odisha zonal youth conference

Berhampur: Chief Minister and BJD Supremo Naveen Patnaik will today address the south Odisha zonal youth conference of the party to be held at Ambapua in Berhampur of Ganjam district.

Patnaik will be speaking to more than 20,000 students and youth activists at the meet to motivate them work towards strengthening the party. The programme will also be attended by many ministers, MLAs and MPs of the party.

Talking to OTV, Gopalpur MLA Pradeep Panigrahi said, "We aim at garnering 30 to 40 thousand youths understand the message that is to make Odisha vibrant, strong and to fulfil the dream of Naveen Patnaik and Biju Patnaik. It will be fulfilled when food, shelter and transportation facilities will be available to all people of the State easily."

After landing at Rangeilunda airstrip, Naveen will visit Berhampur University campus to inaugurate a statue of former Chief Minister Biju Patnaik. Later, he will leave for Ambapua to attend the conference.

On the other hand BJP has said that BJD is organising the conference to resolve infighting in the party.

District BJP President Kanhu Charan Pati said, "They are ruling the State, they can resolve the issues, what is the need of organising such conference. As the infighting in the BJD has grown severe, the event is an attempt of the party to keep its members intact."

Veteran Congress leader Chandra Sekhar Sahu said, "The BJD has now felt that they are lacking somewhere. The youth conference of BJD or the visit of BJP's National President Amit Shah to the district can be termed as a power play between both the parties."
