Naveen makes maiden trip to Thakurani fest

Berhampur: A day after Union minister Dharmendra Pradhan visited the famous Thakurani Yatra of Ganjam, chief minister Naveen Patnaik today offered worship at the makeshift altar of goddess Budhi Thakurani at Desi Behera Sahi here.

Patnaik was accompanied by ministers like Usha Devi, Bikram Arukh and MLA Surya Patro to the spot of biennial religious fair. This is the maiden trip of the chief minister to the popular festival.

Oil minister had also made his maiden trip to fete yesterday and prayed for the development of Odisha. It is said that Pradhan started hiss ground work to capture Ganjam where the BJP failed to perform well in the recently concluded panchayat elections.
