New Delhi/Bhubaneswar: Buzz on change of guard in the Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) intensified today after Leader of Opposition Narasingha Mishra met Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi in New Delhi.

Though there is no official confirmation yet, Narasingha and Rahul are believed to have discussed the possible changes in OPCC keeping in view the demands being made by Congress legislators for past few days.

Earlier, three senior Congress leaders - Sundargarh MLA Jogesh Singh, Congress chief whip and Jeypore MLA Tara Prasad Bahinipati and Talsara MLA Prafulla Majhi had expressed their support to Niranjan Patnaik as the new PCC chief.

However, some other Congress leaders of the State preferred to be mum and let the Congress high command take a call.

Senior Congress leader and former MP Pradeep Majhi had said the final decision will be taken by Sonia Gandhi and the disciplined leaders of the party are bound to obey the decision.

Bhakta Charan Das is also in the race for the new OPCC chief, said sources.
