Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Assembly saw regular adjournments today amid ruckus created by opposition in connection with the Ganjam's district Patrapur gangrape case. Leader of Opposition Narasingha Mishra repeated his demand of a Crime Branch probe into the incident.

Mishra termed it as a shameful incident for whole country. He said such an incident would have rocked the nation if it had occurred in New Delhi. The Chief Minister is silent to protect his party people, he alleged

The LoP further informed that medical report of the girl has indicated she was gang raped.

MLAs of both BJP and Congress created uproar in the House today, by standing on their seats, demanding the Chief Minister's statement over the incident.

LoP Mishra talking to media persons said, “No one has been arrested till date and the procedure of the probe is improper. While I had demanded that at least a Crime Branch probe should be ordered in the incident, I have not any reply on that, for which the demand was again presented in the house today.”

He further added, “It is a shameful incident for all of us, for the state and the country. The opposition today demanded that Chief Minister should come and give a statement on it immediately, the accused should be arrested and action should be taken.”
