Bhubaneswar: Union Mines Secretary Balvinder Kumar today said Navratna PSU Nalco will work towards sprucing up and maintaining cleanliness the area outside the Sri Mandir in Puri.

After a meeting with the Chief Secretary in presence of Nalco CMD TK Chand at the Secretariat here, the Union Mines Secretary said, “Nalco is ready to take up CSR activities in the area and help the pilgrim town get the benefit.”

“Besides, we discussed a proposed aluminium park in the meeting. It was decided that the State government and Nalco will work together to fix the price at which primary aluminium will be supplied to industries,” Kumar added.

The Centre also asked the State government to put 7-8 blocks on auction as early as possible and enhance bauxite production. The Chief Secretary informed him that eight blocks in the State will be put in auction within one month, Kumar said.

On implementation of the District Mineral Fund (DMF) in the State, the Union Mines Secretary said, “Odisha is well on course in this regard.”
