Nabarangpur: BJD MLA Manohar Randhari of Nabarangpur is yet again surrounded by controversy after name of his wife Urmila Randhari cropped up online to be earning Rs 630 as remuneration working under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA).

Local BJP leader, Kanhu Dasi, has alleged that Urmila has worked in a road construction work under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS) with the job card of Dambrudhar Randhari, the father of the MLA.

Talking to OTV he said, "While many from Nabarangpur are migrating outside to work as bonded labourers, job card in name of the MLA's relative is very unfortunate. Therefore we request the Chief Minister to take action against the MLA if he is not resigning on moral grounds.

Acting on the allegation, a probe has been initiated by Nabarangpur BDO Gunanidhi Nayak, into the issue. He said that he has asked the concerned post office, where the MGNREGS workers hold their accounts, to find out details of the account holder where the mentioned amount was deposited.

However, Manohar refuted the allegations saying that his wife has never worked under MGNREGA and she does not have any role in it. He further added that the rumour is spread by a particular media and he will file a defamation suit against the erring persons.
