Bhubaneswar: A team of Corporate Affairs Ministry today quizzed suspended BJD MP Ramchandra Hansda inside the Special Jail, Jharpara Bhubaneswar in connection with the Nabadiganta chit fund scam in Odisha.

The investigating team consisted of three members - Joint Director KS Pradhan, ROC, Orissa AK Mohapatra and AROC Sourav Goutam.

Acting on a petition filed by the advocate of the Investigating team of the Government of India, Corporate Affairs, the Special CBI court had allowed the Ministry to interrogate Hansda in jail on March 20 from 11am to 1pm.

However, the Special Judge of CBI issued an order stating the terms and conditions during interrogation and examination of the BJD MP inside the jail.

The order stated that the accused Rama Chandra Hansda shall not be subjected to any kind of ill-treatment or threat. This apart, it further stated that the concerned authorities shall give due respect to Advocate Goushankar Pani, who is an officer of the court during his presence at Special Jail Bhubaneswar.

Hansda is currently lodged in the Jharpara Special Jail here for his alleged links with Nabadiganta Capital Services Pvt Ltd, a major player in the Odisha chit fund scam. Earlier, he was suspended from the BJD since his arrest by the CBI on November 4, 2014.
