Pipili: In a shocking incident, a minor boy was assaulted sexually and later brutally attacked in Pipili area of Puri district.
As per reports, the child was playing outside his house yesterday afternoon when one of his neighbour, identified as Juma Khan, lured him with a mango and took him to an under-construction building on Puri-Bhubaneswar National Highway where he had unnatural sex with the minor.
Later, he attempted to kill the child by bludgeoning him with a brick.
"We have no relation with Juma. I along with my son used to visit my aunt who is staying here. My child was playing since morning 10 AM but went missing later," said the victim's mother.
The child was found in a critical condition after an extensive search and rescue operation by police and scientific team officials.
"After arriving at the spot we found blood stains and other circumstantial evidences have been collected from the spot," said an official of the scientific team, Partha Sarathi Sahu.
Meanwhile, police have admitted the minor at a private hospital in Bhubaneswar and detained the accused.
"Juma Khan accepted that he had unnatural sex with the child and had abandoned him at a secluded spot after attacking him. Based on his statement, we rescued the child at 12.18 AM and found him still breathing. First we rushed him to Pipili PHC and then to Capital Hospital in Bhubaneswar and presently he is undergoing treatment at a private hospital," said IIC of Pipili police station, Sarat Kumar Sahu.
