Bhubaneswar: Responding to the audio tape released by ex-president of BJD’s Kendrapara Minority Cell, Salim Khan on April 19, which exposed a conspiracy hatched within the party against Kendrapara MP Baijayant ‘Jay’ Panda, the Parliamentarian today said that he has been vocal about the conspiracy against him since last two to three years and demanded security for the Khan.

"I have been highlighting the fact since past 2-3 years that some people in the party are conspiring against me. I have and still trying to bring it to the notice of the party president and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik. The audio tape corroborates my statements about a planned conspiracy against me by someone referred as "P," who has given clear instructions to harass me and my supporters. Salim Khan has publicly appealed the CM to provide protection to him and his family. I would like to make the same appeal because a whistleblower, who exposes a conspiracy should be provided protection," said Panda.

"I have the support of my people and blessings of Lord Jagannath and the conspirators will not be successful in their attempts," added Panda.

Meanwhile, Khan in a letter to DGP RP Sharma today sought security for himself and his family. He has also forwarded the copies of the letter to the Chief Minister, Home Department secretary and Kendrapara SP.

On April 19, Khan had called for a press conference and released an audio tape of conversation between him and Debashis Mallick, the political coordinator of Panda who quit and brought allegations against the parliamentarian. The recorded conversation exposed the conspiracy against Panda.
