Moving car catches fire; narrow escape for passengers

Bhubaneswar: Passengers of a moving car escaped miraculously when the vehicle caught fire while plying towards Jayadev Vihar near Nalco Bhawan in Chandraskeharpur area of Bhubaneswar today.

After receiving information, fire personnel reached the spot and swung into action to bring the blaze under control.

The mishap occurred when fume billowed out of the bonnet of the car bearing registration no - OD 02 G8636 and within two minutes fire engulfed the vehicle completely. No onlooker mustered courage to help the passengers due to the intensity of the flames. By the time the fire staff reached the spot, the car was gutted.

An inquiry has been launched to find out why the car caught fire.
