Gopalpur: The inspiring tale of success of winners of reality dance show, India's Got Talent season 2009, Prince Dance Group, a dance troupe based in Ganjam of Odisha who won millions of hearts across the country with their mesmerising dance acts, will now be seen in an Odia film.

According to sources, T. Krishna Mohan Reddy, the lead star and the choreographer of the troupe is making a movie on the inspiring journey of the team from rags to riches.

The dance movie titled ‘Krishna-The Story of a Dancer’ is being produced and directed by Reddy himself. The production of the movie is underway after the mahurat of the film was held recently.

The movie features the journey of the group members who wrote an inspiring success story from being daily wage earners to overnight stars.

Speaking to OTV, the movie director Krishna Reddy said, “After planning to come up with a dance based movie for the first time in Odia, I myself scripted the story in which I have narrated all the hardships and struggle that we faced right from the very beginning. How we formed the team and how we had to deal with so many difficulties during our journey to Got Talent show in Mumbai forms the crux of the film,” he said.

“If the team members can reach to such a height of success then I believe that they can also be good actors if they are given a bit of input,” says the movie’s technical director Ashwini Patnaik.

Prince Dance Group, is a unique dance group with most of its members from disadvantaged sections of different parts of Ganjam district. It consists of 20 members with Krishna who formed the team with labourers from a construction site.

The group showcased an astonishing performance depicting Lord Krishna and his avatars which eventually won it the title at India’s Got Talent show in 2009.
