Mother slits throat of infant over family quarrel

Bhadrak: A woman allegedly slit throat of her three-month-old son before cutting her own body parts over some trivial issues related to family at Padhanpada under Bonth block in Bhadrak district.

Critical, the baby and her mother were admitted to district headquarters hospital.

The woman identified as Subhadra got into quarrel with her husband Sushant Jena and other family members over some trivial issues on Wednesday. Following the argument, irked Subhadra cut the throat of her infant and own body.

Family members rescued the baby in a critical condition and rushed both of them to hospital. The condition of the baby is stated to be stable.
