Berhampur: Protesting closure of two petrol pumps by the Ganjam  district administration for not obeying the “No helmet, No petrol” rule, more petrol pump owners closed their outlets today.

Yesterday, a police team headed by Sub-Collector Siddharth Shankar Swain had conducted raids at various petrol pumps and ordered shutting down of two outlets over violation of the rule to not sell petrol to motorcyclists without helmet.

Protesting the action, filling stations in the city had shut their operations yesterday. A few more petrol pump owners joined the strike today by shutting their outlets.

It may be mentioned here that the district Collector had recently issued  strict instruction to petrol pump owners to follow the 'No helmet, No petrol” rule.

Meanwhile, representatives of Pertrol Pump Owners' Association went to the Sub-Collector's office at Chhatrapur to hold discussions on the matter.
