Monsoon shower triggers water-logging in the Capital

Bhubaneswar: Monsoon showers in the capital city on Friday caused heavy water-logging in areas like Acharya Vihar and Jaydev Vihar, leaving pedestrians and commuters stranded.

Many parts of Acharya Vihar and Jaydev Vihar were flooded with rain water disrupting the normal life of local residents and commuters as vehicles had to travel across waterlogged roads. Motorists and the commuters had a tough time negotiating the knee-deep water as it took hours to evacuate the water from the roads.

Several low-lying areas were seen inundated by rainwater. The water had even entered many of houses and shops in the locality which witnessed water-logging up to two feet.
