Cuttack: Members of Orissa High Court Bar Association on Monday resorted to cease work after the lawyers’ body could not decide on the next course of action over the levelling of molestation charges of a lady Inspector on two lawyers of the court.

Launching the cease work the lawyers said that the agitation would continue till the next course of action is decided a meeting on Tuesday.

On Saturday the Lalbag Police after a preliminary investigation found that the allegations of molestation made by the lady Crime Branch official against two public prosecutors were baseless.
Earlier, the CCTV footage of the incident was sent by the Commissionerate Police for forensic test. Senior officials who examined the video footage revealed that the allegations were not true.

Notably, a case was registered against the two government lawyers at the Lalbag police station on February 9 for allegedly molesting the lady official. According to reports, the incident apparently occurred inside the lift of Orissa High Court here. She had gone to the High Court on February 7 for some official work and while returning, she was molested in the lift of the court.
