Daringbadi: The headmaster of Daringbadi Sevashram School who is accused of molesting a minor girl of the school, is absconding since a complaint was lodged against him at the local police station on April 30.

As per the police complaint, the headmaster of the government-run residential school for ST/SC in Kandhamal district identified as Aditya Prasad Rath had called the girl and some other students to his quarters on April 22 for some personal work.

Few minutes later, he asked everyone to leave except the girl on the pretext that she has to complete some more chores. However, it is alleged that the headmaster molested the girl after her friends left.

"He called me into his room and locked it from inside. Later he molested me and threatened to keep quiet on the issue or I will be thrown out of school. I seek justice, or else will commit suicide," said the girl.

Meanwhile, social organisations have threatened to take to streets if the accused headmaster is not arrested at the earliest. They have alleged that while the incident was reported on April 30, police have not conducted the medical examination of the survivor till date.

"The headmaster is hiding till date which proves that he is guilty or he would have faced the case. I request the district administration and State government to arrest the accused soon or else the women of Dalit community will be forced to take to streets in coming days," said women leader Bilasini Nayak.
