Bhubaneswar: As the two-day BJP's national executive meet concluded, the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who was here for the last two day to attend the grand conference, flied to Surat in the afternoon today with the prasad, which he offered to Lord Lingaraj in the morning.

Top party leaders including Odisha chief Basant Panda, KV Singhdeo, Jual Oram, Suresh Pujari, Governor SC Jamir, DGP KB Singh, chief secretary AP Padhi bid him farewell at the airport.

Modi left Janata Maidan, the meeting venue, and reached Biju Patnaik International Airport here at around 4.30 pm amid tight security. The air was reverberated with Modi chants by thousands of BJP activists waiting to have his glimpse at the airport.

After Modi went inside the aircraft, his security staff was seen carrying prasad of Lord Lingaraj for him into the flight.

He had offered prayer at the 11th century shrine in the morning and spent some time on the temple premises.

Other leaders and union minister including Arun Jaitely, Venkaiah Naidu, Chhattisgarh chief minister Raman Singh and other have also returned home after the high profile conclave ended in Odisha.
