Bhubaneswar: Following widespread public outcry over the missing Ratna Bhandar key, the State Government today appointed Justice Raghubir Das, retired judge of Orissa High Court as Chairman of the 'Commission of Inquiry' set up to probe disappearance of the 12th century treasury key.

Earlier, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik had ordered a judicial probe into the missing of the key and assured that a commission would be entrusted with the responsibility of looking into the matter.

The Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) in a press release had stated that the Commission would submit report within three months after its appointment.

In a related development, a public interest litigation (PIL) has been filed in the Orissa High Court seeking CBI probe into missing of the key. The State Government, Centre, CBI and the RBI have been made parties in the PIL.

The plea has also sought setting up of a special committee to oversee the probe affairs concerning the missing key.
